SERP Beater definition: SERP refers to Search Engine Result Page. SERP Beater refers to the purpose of this tool: to analyze the top ranking competitors for a keyword and beat them in the ranking by using that analysis to generate superior SEO articles.
The SERP Beater can be accessed by clicking SEO in the left-hand menu and then selecting SERP Beater. By default, you’ll land on the SERP Beater dashboard, which gives you an overview of all your past and ongoing analyses.
Here you’ll see:
The keywords you’ve analyzed
The difficulty score of each keyword (indicating how hard it is to rank for)
The search engine and language selected
The status of the analysis (Completed or In Progress)
The date the analysis was run
At the top of the screen, you’ll also find a quick summary, showing the total number of articles analyzed with SERP Beater, the competitors examined, and your available credits.
Start a New SERP Analysis
To start a SERP Analysis, simply enter a keyword you want to analyze. Creaitor will then run a competitor analysis based on that keyword to show you how the top results are performing.
If you’ve already used Creaitor’s Keyword Research tool, you can save time by starting the SERP Analysis directly from a Keyword Cluster. Just click “Start SERP Beater” on the cluster, and the tool will use the cluster’s results as the foundation for your SERP Analysis.

Otherwise, simply start a new SERP Analysis from the SERP Beater:
Step 1: Define Your Context
The first step in the SERP Beater Wizard is to set the foundation for your article by providing key details:
Keyword – Enter the main search term you want to target. This will be the focus of your SERP and competitor analysis.
Search engine & location – Choose where you want the analysis to run (e.g., Google in the United States). This ensures your article is optimized for the right market.
Language – Select the language in which you’ll create your article. If the search market has several languages (i.e. Switzerland, Canada) you can select for which language you want to analyse SERP results.
Once everything is filled out, click Continue to move on to competitor analysis.
Step 2: Select Your Competitors
At this stage, Creaitor shows you the top-ranking competitors for your chosen keyword. You’ll see their current position in search results along with the domain, the exact page URL, and how they present themselves with their title and description.
By default, the strongest results are pre-selected so you can benchmark against them. However, you can easily adjust the list by adding or removing competitors depending on which ones are most relevant to your article. Once you’ve finalized your selection, simply click Continue to move on to generating your article title.
Pro tip: Check the results and decide if they are relevant to you. Deselect those that you do not consider relevant. Often times pages like Wikipedia rank very high for a keyword but are not necessarily "competitors".
Step 3: Choose a Title
After selecting your competitors, the SERP Beater guides you to create a strong, SEO-friendly title for your article. The screen displays two sets of suggestions: top-ranked titles pulled directly from competitors currently dominating the search results, and AI-generated titles crafted by Creaitor.
You can type in your own custom title, select one of the suggested options, or use the Rephrase button to refine a generated title until it perfectly matches your style and intent. The aim is to balance SEO optimization with reader appeal, ensuring your title is both discoverable and clickable. When satisfied, click Continue to proceed.
Step 4: Build Your Outline
At this stage, you build the structure of your article. On the right, you’ll see outlines generated from competitor content that you can drag into your own plan. You can also use the Generated H2 Ideas or add headings manually.
At the bottom of the left panel, there’s also space to add Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), which is a great way to capture common queries and boost your chances of ranking for featured snippets. Your chosen H2s, H3s, and FAQs will appear on the left, giving you a clear overview of your outline. When you’re satisfied, click Continue to move forward.
What are H1, H2 and H3? These simply refer to the different type of hierarchical headings in content and are helpful to organize content.
Step 5: Writing Points
In this step, Creaitor generates writing points for each of your selected headings. These are the core ideas that will shape your article, and you have full control to refine them.
Here’s what you can do at this stage:
Add, remove, or edit points to better fit your article’s direction.
Set the length of each section (e.g., 100–150 words, 200–250 words, etc.).
Choose the style that best presents the content:
Paragraph
Bullet points
Enumerated lists
Tables (short, with explanation, or with text)
This flexibility ensures your content is not only informative but also formatted in the way that works best for your readers.
Note that Creaitor ensures that each block of content (paragraph) is generated with the last one in mind to ensure a coherent, fluent writing style.
Once everything looks good, you’re ready to move on and generate your first draft.
Step 6: First Draft
In the last step, Creaitor assembles everything into a complete draft of your article.
Left panel: Shows your structure with H2/H3 headings.
Right panel: Displays the generated text for each section.
Edit as needed: Adjust tone, length, or style directly in the editor.
When you’re happy with the result, click Submit to move the article into the main editor, where you can polish it further with SEO tools before publishing. Your article will automatically be saved to your Content.
